Services
The Planning & Zoning Department exists to provide the finest planning services by:
  • Providing support and assistance to the Mayor & City Council, the City Manager, other City Departments, City-appointed boards, commissions, and committees;
  • Providing professional and courteous service to the general public;
  • Promoting an effective working relationship with same and other organizations and communities;
  • Performing all responsibilities in the administration of the Zoning Ordinance;
  • Providing staff with the opportunity to increase their knowledge and abilities through education and training.

The City of Clinton’s planning commission and zoning board of appeals operate out of the department, and all issues concerning commercial, industrial, and residential zoning, annexation, and land development are coordinated through the Planning & Zoning Office.
